See Howard, told you to ask someone didn't I     Now you'll have a TripleC'd engine that will restore that special Sprint love again. Not as bad as I think you were anticipating.......... thank goodness. Well done that Spalding bloke 8)

What happened to the old lh thread bolt?

is it now on your water pump tool...

dives for cover.

Well worth doing 2 studs on the exhaust manifold too. I would like to recommend all 3 but I find that with a stud in the bottom its almost impoosible to refit the down pipe.

Looks like a top job and as you say a narrow escape...

Note from Admin: sadly Jon passed away in February 2018 but his humour and wealth of knowledge will be fondly remembered by all. RIP Jonners.

Roy got my Rimmer Bros order today... but the cam sprocket is on back-order :x Out of all the parts I ordered, that was the main one

I called them, and all they could tell me was that the next shipment of cam sprockets was due in at the end of May...

Why couldn't they have told me this over the phone when I called? The guy even looked up the part number for the cam sprocket for me. At least then it would have given me a few more days to locate one elsewhere, rather than hold Roy up in the build

I've got a good used one, but I'd rather fit a new one if we can find one.

No doubt the new cam sprocket will have four holes rather than two eh? You were so very lucky with the engine Howard. It's all nicely decoked now and I bet it'll run like a beaut once it's all done and dusted. Brilliant stuff.

All parts for engine are now here. Got head back yesterday, re-faced, valves re-seated, vacuum tested, spotlessly cleaned. Now to nail it back together....
