Its not a "Y", but a full-on American V8.
The curved flutes in the bonnet indicate 1933. '34's had straight flutes.

Great pictures James of cars on the track. What camera and lens were you using and what sort of shutter speed. It's a difficult balance of blurred background and a crisp car.
Thanks Mike, the camera is a Canon EOS 70D. Lenses are just the basic Canon EF-s 10-18mm, 18-55mm and a Tamron 70-300mm for the long distance shots. To get the blurred background I tend to select manual focus set up where I want the picture, exposure is between 1/30 or 1/60 depending on the angle then I just follow the car in rotating my body and take the shot, it takes a bit of practice!Great pictures James of cars on the track.
