looking really good. Excellent work and a great pace you are setting. Do you live near mart ? :D

The starter motor fault, yeah, I can remember a similar problem, the heat from the exhaust dries out the lubricant in the starter solenoid, so it doesn't fire home properly. having someone turn the key while you lie underneath the car hitting the starter with a lump of wood seems to be the approved fix. Like you, I made a new heat shield for the solenoid, mine was out of stainless. The heatshield under the passenger floor/tunnel I will do the same way. An old sink is being sacrificed for this purpose.

good pics too, even with the phone :D

keep up the good work, cracking project this, a swagload of work done. I really need to spend some time jumping the final hurdle with mine

:D Cracking work, worth the wait for the update. As said above would never know the roof has a sunroof (or the 30 or so rivets holes I added  ).

You seem to be running out of bodywork at this rate? Presume sills and a few bits at the rear next?

Hello again all. Just a quick update, gradually getting there with the resto. My only wish is that i had my own garage/lockup to do this in as i would have both time and the freedom to do what I need without any issues. My only quote on this is that ' its a restoration not a new car respray ' so...

A few pics until next time for now, oh, and yes the fibreglass wings were not the best fit to say the least- I found both wings badly matched to car in different ways, this i sorted with a little gentle persuasion with a heat gun to shape( be careful here, just to shape don't burn them ), and some fibreglass paste to build up some small places- one of the wing lines as it didn't match correctly when matched elseware.

I would just like to say that without the encouragement and comments on this forum I would be thinking of walking away from this as i'm under a bit of pressure where i'm doing the car due to them being used to just spraying new cars and not restos, so its difficult when i have to explain everything I need to do to the car and have them think i'm being overboard or that i'm doing it at leisure, (i'm doing it too slowly apparently). The main thing is that I am doing everything to this car myself to a professional standard and have no help or choice to have something done by someone else on it to speed things up, Its just me alone.

Anyway, just wanted to tell everyone thanks for the replies, this forum has keep me going... :D
