Hi Guys

Making some progress, most of the front end welding now complete, rust proofed with Jenolite, and redoxide primer all over.

Painted the bulkhead ready for insulation to arrive, so hopefully that will be here before the weekend, then the front end can be put back together.

Engine can't be put in until I collect the front subframe from 2toledos in bristol at the end of the month, mines was shot bigtime.

So progress progress progress, starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Photo's to follow at the weekend, can't find my cable to download some pics.

Regards

Darren

Sorry to be a tease, I thought it would be fun, the old girl is now back on all 4 wheels, she is now turned around ready to have the diff etc taken off and painted, im so please with the front end.

I wasn't happy with the front panel after I done the work to the front valent so took it down to bare metal and took out all the imperfections from where the rust scabs were, as you can see:

then I hit a load of filler and found this

She came out really nice, and managed to get hold of a black 1500 badge, with plastic badge clips from a mini specialist on the bay

some more pics of her:

I forgot too take a pic of her back on all 4 corners for the 1st time in about 4 months, everything seems to be slowly coming together.

:eyes4u: :thump: :eyes4u: :thump: :eyes4u: Looks wonderful mate.

That Maple paint really has some depth of colour when in it's fresh state.

Top work.

Thank you Alan

So pleased with the way she is coming, just wish I could do jobs a little quicker, just can't wait to get her on the road. The fresh maple looks so good, and the finish isn't too bad for a rattle can. Hopefully I will have the diff of this weekend.

Regards

Looking very promising indeed! I'm fond of the rattle can as a spraying medium, as long as there's plenty of paint on there, any imperfections can always be flatted out and a very good standard achieved.

Had you not 'fessed up to the use of the can, I couldn't have guessed from the picture that this was your chosen technique.
Let's hear it for the rattle can says I, in the right hands (yours), they're great things.

 John, the inner wings were painted with a brush, such a geat finish, I think using the rattle can is down to confidence and Patience, it's a job not to be rushed, as I rushed at 1st and got some bad slips, and had to sand them down, it was so much easier to do the whole front panel than pick out each individua scab and trying to get it too match.

OK, when you have your photobucket picture on the screen in front of you at the right size (VGA or 800x600 work best since some of us like to view the forum on smaller screens...), right click on the image. Then a dropdown list of options appears. From that list, select "copy image location".

Then tab back to the forum and, in the post you're making, right click on that post at the point where you want to show the picture and select "paste" from the list of options that appears.

That should give you an image location like this:
http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1246/556 ... fdcf21.jpg

Then mouseover the location you just pasted in, with the left button held on and highlight it.
Once you've highlighted that, go to the top of the post you're writing and click on "img" which will embed the image in your post, so in the case of the above location, we get this:
