That is in a bad way, but I have seen worse. At least you were able to get a few bits from the car.

Another glorious day of sunshine. Makes you feel good.
I attacked the exhaust first thing. I undid the
new brackets, gave it a tug and the pipes separated just past the front box. That was easy, I thought. When I looked, the exit pipe from the front box had come clean away from where it was welded.

another little job to be done.
Then I removed the propshaft & undid the gearbox mounting bolts so that all that remained was to remove the four subframe bolts & lift the body off the engine & box.

Upper front outer panel seemed worthy of retention.
TIP: for tomorrow, or whenever shell is collected, just wind the windows down fully so they cannot be seen; adds significant weight.
Yards around here have recently started refusing to accept cars with tyred wheels on, charging £10 each corner; not allowed to take them off yourself due to H&S rules.

Round here they weigh them with windows in. They just put the fork truck forks straight through the windows when they take it off the trailer. We can take our own wheels off as well or its £2.00 a corner. I guess that explains why the scrap price is higher up your way Al!

nah we have to drain the tanks and its often worth doing anyway, but if you leave the seats in I have seen people watering them before they weigh them!!

I can but, as I said, the front one is cracked & the rear one is scratched.

Things are progressing slowly. I dropped the back axle out today & Mary removed the headlining & roof sound deadening pads. I've also removed all the brake & fuel lines from under the shell, not forgetting the load sensing valve and bolt plate. Handbrake & cables also removed. I did have a quick go with my new grinder & smaller knotted wire brush attachment on the subframe, revealing a small bit of welding needed around one of the mounts. We will hopefully have all the other bits & pieces removed tomorrow so that the shell can be picked up sometime in the week.

love the inventive storage places you use Mart ! boot lid for the seats. Must be a bugger working in a small garage. Good to see this progressing so quickly, well done.

....Mart has one of the biggest home garages that I have seen in the triumph world. Land Rover world sees a few larger ones, but then a lot of those are not really proper buildings!!

Aren’t those pictures exactly the same as used in a previous project ?
Only joking, progress is swift as always. I’ll be enjoying this thread as much as the previous ones!
