Very good turnout of cars, most of which I didn't see! I think I was in a bit of a daze after one too many late nights trying to get my new 1850 running. Scuppered by a lack of radiator, but that will soon be fixed. Good to catch up with a few people again, although it seemed to fly by and I didn't have my usual long natter with Reg. And then I didn't say bye to folks as I was only going for a short walk to Hatton Locks, but ended up getting back just in time to see Alun leave, making us the last to go. Managed to deliver and collect most of the parts I had as planned, but watched bifold across the field and before I knew it he had left and I still had the door I had brought for him. Definitely brain not in gear.

Makes mental note to get there a bit earlier next year.

The kids took lots of photos so I'll try to post some later.

Looks like a great day out, do they hold it in the same place each year anyone?

Thanks for the info Alun. Paul reckoned that there was one in the VA90s so VA124 is the 7th oldest survivor. I liked the Valencia blue K plate 1850 which is claimed to be the oldest surviving Dolly. I've never seen a Dolomite in that colour before.

That Practical Classics write up is 'spot on', be nice if we get that into the next edition of practical classics.

I think the next practical classic is out wednesday, but the one after perhaps. Some really good PR for the club, and will back up what they said recently about the dolly when they matched it against the allegro and escort.

Gutted not to have been able to make it, a family member was taken ill on Friday which scuppered any chance of attending.

Ah well, I'm a member now so hopefully will meet up with you all sometime soon.

Had I have been there, I'd of gone for 'You must be Jod Clark, I could tell by the photo'..

Unless, of course, that's not you in your avatar and I've now made myself look like an ass-hat ?

Out if interest, did any 'non-standard' cars turn up ?

Rover 3.5's or Cosworth ? I see ALG1K has, sadly, dropped of the scene lately. Who owns the other Cosworth Dolly ?

Keeping an eye on issue 1 of the Retro Cars mag on eBay which has ALG1K in..

Anywho ya, anything interesting turn up ?

There was a field full of dolomites...that was pretty interesting!!

I didn't see any V8s there. I forget how many there are in the club, but if the others are like mine it would have been way too hot to take a v8 there from any distance!!

Oh.. are they quite poor on the cooling front then ?

Man, I wish I could have gone. I think the next event I can attend is the Feb resto.
