Very nice but they're supposed to display the part number of the carb, not your registration!!

Well at least if someone nicks them you'll know theyre yours!!

They do look good though!

When you see them, it either makes you smile or laugh, (or call me an idiot)

and in these days, thats a public service in itself :D

Any further progress on the car? I've read the thread again from the start.

Read the thread from the start !, We need to find you another Dolly to do in your spare time,

I am refurbing the wheels, and will put that on here soon, (as I finish one wheel).

Regards the car, I am going to Dorset on the 1st Oct, and will have finalised the end of works being
done there.

After that, there will be loads of post of electrical work, new stereo, car alarm, split load charger,
tracking system install, decapitation device, electrocution device, fog generator,
impaler (literally) 120db internal sound bomb, etc etc.

Wheel refurbishment is not as easy as it looks.

Maybe now things will be easier, as I have a new assistant.

They're looking better than mine already! Having the tyres off does help. You need to get rid of all the corrosion and roughness especially at the edge of the rim so the tyres can seal properly. I think this is the problem with mine. Mad Mart's guide is good but I wouldn't recommend Hammerite any more. It is absolutely dreadful.

Yep, need to clear all that off, I found sandpaper and elbow works best, as opposed to the drill.

I am planning to paint the inside (back) with 2 coats of etch primer and then a coat of alloy wheel paint, just to seal them,
If anyone has a better suggestion, please do tell.

I'm only painting the rear of the wheel to hold back corrosion, the fronts will be polished. Rear etch primer, followed by a std alloy wheel paint, to prevent brake dust wear and to save me doing the refurb for a few years

But any suggestion of paint would be appreciated.

I have made an adjustment to my new assistant, the pole allows for multiple working angles and I would recommend this method for anyone without proper working premises.
