Subaru flat 4 has a lot of tuning potential, I think it's too wide between the shock towers but it would sit in front of them, where the battery would go. Would be a good build, lols of power and plenty of griprobrow wrote:surely you would want to keep the longitudinal mounting of the original dolly?
A lot of the suggestions are transverse, and if you wanted to go this way then I would recommend going for the vag 20vt and 4x4 running gear.
Cheap, plentiful, masses of tuning potential.....
Longitudinal options would probably be scarcer, but imprezza would be one option, if there is enough room between the inner wings for a flat 4.
