Just realised that I've not posted this update...

During the summer 2 members were good enough to send me the tappet shims I needed to get the rebuilt engine back to the correct clearance. Toby fitted these back in Oct and doesn't it run so much better now? 8)

Back to the project after the cold winter limited what I could be doing.

I finally collected a (second) set of nearly-matching, Sprint alloys which I'd won on ebay in Feb 2020 - a friend kindly stored them until I was passing...

They are better than I was expecting/remembered :lol:

They could be used as is, although I don't think the inner rim was a black, hand-brushed finish... Was it just a natural cast finish, lacquered?

They came with, what look like, original centres too. These have responded to a bit of metal polish but it looks like they're lacquered too and it's now patchy. What's the best way to refurbish these parts, please?
