And Toby doesn't trust himself to paint the A-surfaces....

Just realised that I've not posted this update...
During the summer 2 members were good enough to send me the tappet shims I needed to get the rebuilt engine back to the correct clearance. Toby fitted these back in Oct and doesn't it run so much better now?

That does mean that I have a selection of shims to go on to the next owner in need
So, give me a shout.

Back to the project after the cold winter limited what I could be doing.
I finally collected a (second) set of nearly-matching, Sprint alloys which I'd won on ebay in Feb 2020 - a friend kindly stored them until I was passing...
They are better than I was expecting/remembered
They could be used as is, although I don't think the inner rim was a black, hand-brushed finish... Was it just a natural cast finish, lacquered?
They came with, what look like, original centres too. These have responded to a bit of metal polish but it looks like they're lacquered too and it's now patchy. What's the best way to refurbish these parts, please?

And we're back !
Toby is now on the final parts of the bodywork, prior to preparation for paint i.e. the bit that'll take the longest, as he's a perfectionist
This is the original wing. Is it possible to get it to fit any better than this ?
He's started some of the nastier looking bits of the original welding
Still thinking about what to do with the wheels and caps, as per my previous post...

Finessing of the bodywork is continuing in Hungary, with door gaps now looking better than they came out of Canley
We've now got to think about what to do with the exterior vinyl. What is the situation with removal and reuse of the originals? These D-post covers look especially brittle...
Are there any new alternatives?
