Spring Performance Car Action Day
Saturday 25th April 2009
It's time I got off my arse & did something TD related and also give my Track Day Sprint a good going over.
Track sessions will be £20 per session. Sessions last about 15 mins. I usually get about a dozen free admission passes as well (usually £10) which will be distributed to drivers taking part, initially.
Track sessions are from 9:00am - 5:00pm, every 15 minutes. No sessions between 1:00-2:00.
You will need a helmet. At this moment in time, any helmet will do, but I would recommend an MSA approved one at least. There is a briefing
which all drivers must attend before being allowed on the track (10 mins). Also, all track going cars have to be sound tested to 100dB or below.
Please give yourself at least an hour before your first session, to get set up & attend the above.
If you would like to book track time through me, I will need:-
1. Number of track sessions required (£20 each)
2. Preferred time of session(s)
Please give me your preferred track times. It's makes my life a lot easier.
Any questions, please ask.
Martin

How long does a session last? What is the gap between sessions? Sessions are approx. 15 mins, no gap. Give yourself an hour between sessions (45 mins minimum).
How many sessions is reasonable for the day? I usually do 4 sessions.
How many cars on the track at one time? Approx. 25-30.
When does the event start and close and can we ruck up any time between? First session is at 9:00, last is at 5:00. You can get there anytime you like but make sure it's at least an hour before your first session.
Will tyre wear be excessive; ie is it wise to bring separate shoes for the journey home? Tyre wear isn't too bad as long as you have plenty to start with. Most of us use a different set for the track though.
Is there an age limit? I think min. age is 16.

Right, it seems we are a bit late for this one, although there are
some track passes left they are at 9:00am or after 3:45pm.
How's about arranging a TD at one of the Motorsport Events venues?

Great circuit Cadwell, saw some good classic racing there a few years ago following a classic rally. Strange area though...don't try camping!!!

Cadwell is fantastic, a bit strange though as pretty much every other circuit has things like pits and garages, I was there a couple of weeks ago and it's definately somewhere I want to do in the sprint if I ever get it back together.
