I seem to be getting into this rather fast.

Hrm. Well.. I just bough a car of eBay heh.
It looks fairly bad actually, but the fact it was 5 miles away was to big a temptation to refuse.

I guess if its too much work for me I can always put it back on eBay ?

Hrm. I go to get it Saturday.. what have I done ? Heh.

The more I think of it the more I feel it has been a bad idea. Oh well done now. Time more my learning curce to really begin.

I have a flamenco 1300 S plater that is a lot better shell wise than that one.
Its at Gary's in Somerset. It just has a burnt out clutch but I could supply a new plate with it. Nice engine and transmission is all quiet. Will pass an Mot struturally. Ball joints and rack and brakes all drive well but no Mot guarantees here. Wont take much to get through though whatever.

I was/am going to make something more interesteing out of it...but there are plenty of others if anyone is desperate for a 1300 project now.

nice one phil,my auto 1850 had been stored for aprox ten years,it cost aprox £200,and a days work to mot it, but it did take 50 miles to make the tyres round again !best of luck

Yeh, another 1300 saved. well done that chap . 200 bonus points to you.
Not sure where the HL bit comes into the picture (HL = highline ,which is the trim level)

It wouldn't suprise me if it wasn't. I've been using eBay a while, buying and selling, and this purchase is the one I'm most suspicious of. Probably because I know so little of cars, but there is something else to.

If it hadn't have been so close I'd of kept away from it. Anywho, all done now and looking forward to getting it going.

i not saying that you are being misled, its probably just a mistake by the seller not knowing.
don't be too diheartened if it needs some welding , you should have seen the state of my grey 1300fwd by the time i had knocked back the rusty bits.

Don't worry too much. Just remember, check the subframe mounting points and chassis rails underneath and make sure there's been no battery acid leakage If it needs wings, I have a couple of fibreglass ones in the shed. Give me a buzz when you pick it up.
I'll pm you with the number.

Don't forget, as with all ebay auctions. If the condition of the car varies considerably from the stated description you can walk away. Take a copy of the ad with you.

Uh, sure.

Ok, look behind each of the front wheels. You'll see the front shock and a flexible brake hose. You need to look at either side of these landmarks and you should see a round rubber doughnut type bush sandwiched between the subframe and chassis. Check as much of the metal bits in the area for rust, holes very fresh looking underseal and/or patches.

It can be sorted but it's a pain (as I am finding out on LWT).
