Went to my first motorkhana the other weekend - loads of fun, especially the cloverleaf-style tests
Was however hampered by having a standard, i.e. rubbish hand brake.

This is my handbrake, inline in the rearbrake lining. Lots of fun.

Thats what ive just bought Jeroen great minds think alike. Are they any good? hope so i hated the clover leaf test!

Yes, they work fine but be sure you have the 19mm wheelcilinders on the rear. Then the diameter ratios are ok and the lever "feels" ok.

Hydraulic handbrakes are illegal in New Zealand for road use. Would fail our version of MoT test unless part of a log book carrying race car, certified for road use and carrying a duly noted 'authority card'. Same applies to full roll cages and full harnesses.

Are they allowed in Aus or UK?

Hello, i'm a tester of the dutch version of the MoT and i test it on my dolomites as ok

You need a mechanical handbrake for the MOT, the other 364 days of the year I'm not so sure about.

Thats a NO in the UK if its to be a road car with MOT.

I suppose its all about where you take it to be MOTed i take mine to a guy whos mad on motorsport he says if youve built the car for competition it should be 100% safe and doesnt mind the hydro handbrake or the harnesses.

As Zombeh says, you need to still have the mechanical handbrake. Full harness belts are a slightly grey area, as I believe technically there has to be an e-marked seatbelt fitted, but I've seen plenty of cars pass with only harnesses. There's also the question of whether you still need rear seatbelts if your rear seats are unusable (e.g. roll cage in the way)...
