The internet's a scary place, sometimes...

#1 Post by Lewis »

My MSN binged gently yesterday as I recieved a personal email from one of the youtube videos I put up a while ago. Nothing unusual about that but the contents (edited to protect the senders ID) did rather send a shiver up my spine!

The video in question was this:

Fairy normal - just one of the videos I put up when I was ebaying the 1500, to prove that it did move and drive under it's own steam and functioned pretty much as it should.

The car in question.

The email?
Hey man,

I really enjoyed your video of you driving in your '71 Triumph, especially the barefoot one. Do you drive barefoot a lot? I usually drive that was because it's so much more comfortable, and because it's easier with a manual shift. Do you happen to have any more videos of you working the gear shifter and pedals with your barefeet? If so, would you please post them or forward them via email. Would love to see 'em. Thanks mate!

Its illegal to drive barefoot! or indeed without suitable footwear lest the brake pedal needs to be depressed hard!

Was it a male messenger Lewis? If so, I'd worry about what he might have been doing whilst watching you play footsie!

It is indeed dangerous to drive barefoot - but I must point out the only reason I'd removed my sandals was they kept trapping the pedals, which was even more dangerous!

I had just rigourously cleaned the footwells and pedals as part of the sale so there were no sharp objects to be depressed into my feet :D

And yes, he WAS MALE :!:

The internet is indeed a scary place never seems to amaze me what's on there except for what you are actually looking for. I recently had a virus which instead of searching on google and clicking the links to take me to the site it sent me to all kinds of weird and wonderful "service" sites. Virus is now gone thankfully, I don't have kids but they weren't child friendly sites I was being taken to.

Incidentially I remember this from my uni days in the early days of the internet. We got bored and found some random site about "Men who keep their women in a pit". Seem to remember there was some website about just that.
