Got the clutch working nice tonight, adjusted the carbs a touch, fitted a working OD switch and fitted the transmission tunnel.

What a car! Engine is nice and quiet, pull really well, OD works. MOT tomorrow then its going up for sale, I could well be after a Land rover, a series shape would be nice, V8 would be nicer :D

Bye bye Dolomite, selling it to a mate tonight with no MOT. I'm not sure I'll miss it, drifted away from it now, I bet I've done something low like 1200 miles in the last year and a bit and that includes a trip to Germany!

All my Dolomite spares are going or gone, this car is going, my yellow Dolomite will probably end up being stripped unless somebody wants it whole (its not very good) and my Scimitar is also going. Had to cut the body shell up on it today :( Chassis is being sold tomorrow.

I need to buy something to cheer me up

Adam you are a silly boy you must stick to a project and see it through, what happened to the Cosworth set up you got from me.
You do know that physically it would have gone in a sprint and made the bugger shift.

FFS Adam, I thought you were keeping the Scimmy.

Sell the Saab for parts on ebay, save up some dosh and get 1 solid, viable car of some kind.

Don't take the bloody thing to Germany.

I was stuck with the Scimitar, not enough money to finish it off, too far gone for it to become a road car. It was a free car, I've probably broke even with the amount of money I put in to it by selling it off in pieces. The car was destined for the scrap yard, I just wasted time effort and money in welding the chassis but luckily another car will benefit from it.

The Saab is a good car, I fitted an engine to it about 6 weeks ago and its been going well since, made a healthy 217hp and 238lbft on the rollers the other day. This car is a keeper, it makes sense, well built, quick, useable everyday. Things I've never had all in one car.

I'm glad to get rid of the Dolomite, had it (them) so long I was bored of it. It needs work for its MOT that I just wasn't enthusiastic about doing. It's going to a mate who loves the constant tinkering that these cars love to have. I've done it over and over now with the Dolomites, 1300fwd, dolomite 1300, dolomite 1500hl, 1500hl auto, 1850hl, TR7d 1850, Sprint power. I don't think I've been without a Dolomite since I was 16, I'm 21 now. Its time for a change :)

Ah, didn't realise you'd had the Saab sorted. Fair enough.

does this mean you have a spare Cosworth set up? I'm looking for a 24v Cosworth to fit into a Capri.

I don't see a non-HL 1500 in here. Better get one and complete the set! :D

Your mistake with the Triumphs Adam is you went the wrong way.
I started with a TR4 then a TR5 then Stag, along came the children, so downgraded to a lowly 1500 HL which needed a sundial to check 0-60 finally I got a Sprint to use the engine in a kit car the kit was dinged and I got the Sprint that I have now and the last 10 years have been spent making it as fast as a TR but I can no longer afford a TR5 or it would be history.
