My 1850 resto/modernising project.

After months of inactivity I have finally cut into my 1850,41k on the clock, but standing on grass has done her no good. She needs wheelarches, sills, front valance, and chassis leg needing welded.Everything else is seized, including cylinder head?,never seen that one before.Interior is mint though,so plans(long term resto),sort bodywork out, uprate brakes and suspension and then fit an engine upgrade to mx5 power. After much research this unit won out due to,price, reliability, and backup.I already have the wiring diagram explaining how to hook up the engine to run,and found an engine candidate through u-pull,how about 475 for the car,uk model and full history.Wish me luck then.

Me and my big mouth, looks like the shell has not enjoyed itself in the long grass.Floors are now looking rusty with both front legs rusted out, this might end it,options now are take the good bits of for sale and transfer what i need onto my 1500 kbj or dig in for the long haul.Thing is it will cost and it aint viable for me to have done two expensive restos,as well as all my other outgoings....................................decision time?!

Sorry to hear that it is in such a state. Maybe it would be more viable to buy another car with sound bodywork and combine the two. There are a lot of tempting cars on eBay just now, including a 1500TC at around £300.

It's a shame you're so far away, otherwise I'd let you have the Dolly I saved the other week for what I bought it for.
