I have just had a new roll cage designed & built. FIA legal with the option of multi points. Made in modern material. Available as a kit if anyone is interested

No it is bolt in type but some welding is needed for the mounts.

Hi Ken
As you can imagine I'll need a new cage for the replacement bodyshell. Last one was fully welded but again there are legal complications in NZ with using a cage rather than a roll bar - anything forward of the driver adds lots more compliance issues with using the car on the road. The ideal is a welded roll bar with bolt in forward sections that can be removed when going for our equivalent of a MoT.
Can you let me have details - design, tubing specs, price etc off line so I can see if this might be an option. I assume as it is FIA approved it will also meet Motosport NZ specs, but better make sure. Freight thought won't make this easy i suspect.
Geoff

Hi Geoff,
The cage is bolt in & bolted together so comes in a kit of parts. Some welding will be necessary to fit the mounting plates. It is FIA legal and as such does not connect to the suspension mountings as this is not permitted under FIA regulations. It fits without the need to remove or modify the dash although you cannot remove the dash without removing the cage. The cage has multi points which under FIA regs you would remove the bolts so they are innoperative. The front cage can be removed if necessary leaving the rear cage in place. If you wished you could make it extend to the front suspension.
If you send me your email address I will forward pictures to you.
Regards,
Ken.

Hi Ken
Could you please send me pics and a price to
N_glasbey@hotmail.com.
I have a full weld in cage to fit to mine at present but am having second thoughts on that.
Cheers Neil
