Having been most vociferous in jonnyv1's thread about matt black I find myself quite liking that. Pass me a spoon someone I have a pie to eat, filling purest humble

Looks like a reasonable sized garage as well - is it bigger than the norm? Haven't tried mine in the one at home but it would save me rent if it would fit (though I don't know where I'd put the rubbish that's in the garage :D

running very well cheers, managed to contact the previous owner who confirmed that he had the engine rebuilt by Keith Carter at Classic engines in Coventry (£850 worth) although it's not been out too much lately due to me painting it panel at a time, don't want to attract too much attention (yet). 2 offside doors, rear quarter, and back panel left to paint (over easter hopefully). when it's all done i'm probably going to re-mask it out and drop some reversed 'ghost flames' in gloss black just to break up the flatness of the panels

my garage is pretty wide so can manage to open the doors fully, just a shame the door is not wider (can't get my corvette in!). wish i'd left the door rubbers on though! what a pain to get them back in the runners

Always liked Matt black that is excellent. Know what you mean about door rubbers, I only had to reapply one and it took what seemed liked hours, worst design I've seen!

re: door rubbers

i used a little wd40 (too scared to use silicone spray as i'm still painting!) in the channels to help them through but as they're old and worn they keep snagging, ended up with the old 'give it a prod with a flat head screwdriver' method

I (or should I say, Mary) uses an old flat-blade screw driver (rounded edges). The old ones are fairly easy to insert, you should try the ones from Rimmers!!!!!
Sprintless for the first time in 35+ years. :boggle2: ... Still Sprintless.

Engines, Gearboxes, Overdrives etc. rebuilt. PM me.

yep, i did that on my toledo, without the mary.

we like new door rubbers, but took me a couple of days to fit them using the screwdriver method

ive seen this sprint several times 'recently', near supermart in nuneaton. my boss has seen it too, he has a mild interest seeing as he has the same lump in his scimmy.

Looks great Dave, well done!

I hope the rear ARB fits and allows clearance for the side-exit exhausts - great idea by the way!

Wheel-wise what are your thoughts? 7J Revolution 4 spokes (available from MWS as 'Revolites') would look good, especially if you painted the centres a lairy colour to contrast with the bodywork.

silver sprint wheels....

My V8 had side exit exhausts which were xr3 pipes. They exited just before the rear wheels and looked the part I thought....Covcourier may have some pics..or be able to provide some ;) That makes it off the shelf bits which has to help
