Hi All,
Thought I'd let you know how I have been getting on with the Dolly I purchased last year.
Initially didn't do much just drove, done a few shows and enjoyed.

Replaced an engine mount that was definitely past its best.
Image

The steering was a bit tight so with the MOT looming and a replacement rack from the club that was changed.

Started to investigate a crusty bit  on the nearside jacking point which turned out like this....

Started repairing

Can't find any pics of completed repair but pleased with the result, will post when i find them. Also had to replace all the trim clips for the sill trim!!

Ordered some ignition parts, plug tubes and ally carb mounts from the club which were duly fitted. Had a bit of bother with the leads and ended up sending one back to Malc. Will fit this when its replacemrnt arrives. Turns out plug tubes had already been fitted  but put the new ones in anyway..

Booked an MOT for last Saturday and it was a FAIL!!!!
Offside lower balljoint and uneven braking at the front.
Onto Rimmers and got a new balljoint, discs and braided hoses.
Whilst waiting on these noticed a little crusty bit at the bottom of the offside rear wheel arch. No pics of before but this is what the repair looks like.

So last night fitted the balljoint, discs and hoses, bled the brakes and its sitting outside the MOT centre tonight ready for a retest tomorrow.
Still having a few starting issues but will investigate after I've put a few miles under my belt.

Hope you enjoy
Craig

Where was the first picture taken? I'm sure I have a few pictures of the same loch, but sadly no Dolly!
I can't find them at the moment, we took a detour on the way back from Morar.

Hi All,
Bought a couple of tins of Triumph Maple Brown code 73 from Paints4U last week, hoping to touch in a couple of small bits.

Painted a sample to see what it would look like and ended up with this :( .

So what to do now? Do I have to go get it paint matched somewhere and if so where?

Hi All,
After getting a strong smell of petrol from around the car I realised the petrol tank was on the way out. After trying a few places for a tank with no luck I found East End Radiators in Glasgow who repaired the rotten bottom of the tank. While the tank was out I had to repair a small bit of the boot floor and tidy up the previous rear wing replacement a bit.
Tank back in and all was good until about a week later I couldn't get her started. :(
Tried umpteen things, eventually replacing the electronic ignition with points and putting a new wire from the starter solenoid to the coil.
Good to have her back up and running. :D

After TDCIR I've been busy with MUG.
Spare carbs were aquablasted, throttle spindle bushes drilled and reamed and rebuilt with SU Carb kit. I decided to blast and repaint the air filter housing too.
Image

On a run to St.Andrews a knocking from the rear passenger side was driving me daft, I knew that shock was leaking so ebay produced these.

Now fitted MUG looks like this.

I've also solved the poor starting problems with a spare starter motor from my spare engine. She is starting on the button now.
The old starter was full of grey gunk and was only held on with one nut!!
Getting the third bolt on was interesting to say the least!!
