Came across this on OZ Ebay.

Doesn't say the interior has been re-done. Was it ever offered like this?

Hi Gents,
I am the new owner of this Sprint.
You're right, it was advertised on eBay as being originally Mimosa with black interior but at some stage in its life has been changed.
The eBay spiel was wrong though, where it says it came privately into Australia in 1991. According to the BMIHT Certificate I have just purchased, it was always meant for export to Leyland Australia.
All the numbers match and after my drive home from Melbourne, about 800kms, I'm a very happy new Triumph owner.
After drumming it into my children, never to buy something sight unseen, especially where there is a largish sum involved, I went and did just that.
I had my heart in my mouth for the 8 days from close of Auction, right up until I started to drive it home, when it proved to be money well spent.
The interior is very nice, especially the retrim around the dash, and has just a tiny bit of tidying up needed.
The paint is a comprehensive respray, but has the usual problems, with stone chips right across the front and some chipping down the drivers door edge, etc.
I'm sorting out its problems right now and I can guarantee that the yetch yellow under the bonnet is now gone....and I can promise you it was the 1st thing I did.
I'll post photos here soon.
Cheers,
Rob

Boot badges? maybe I'm just being picky, but they need to be swapped other way round?

Yes, and an interesting mixture of early and late! "TRIUMPH" is early, the "Dolomite SPRINT" is late.

It's right on the change date too (1976), but I would reckon it should have the early Sprint badge.

But that's just being picky, the car looks absolutely spot on, and that interior! :eyes4u:

Thanks for the information folks.
I knew about the badges needing to be swapped from side to side. The car came with a box of spare bits including badges. There is an early rear "Dolomite Sprint" badge in the box, so I'll use it when swapping them over.
However, I didn't know about the front indicator/parking lights. I'll attend to that too.
Once again, Thanks You, I appreciate all the help I can get.
Cheers,
Rob

Hello,
I figured that some of you might like to see how this little car looks now that I've done some detailing etc;
1st thing I did was paint over the yetch yellow and do some cleaning up under the bonnet, right after I removed no less than 10 stickers from the windows.
Then I removed the ugly towbar and affixed the stripes.
There were a few small mechanical jobs to attend to and I'm in the process of polishing and detailing the paint presently.
Next week its off to the panel shop where a new right rear chrome trim strip will be attached in place of the bent up old one on the car now. While its there the LHR door will be pushed back into shape.
I know the decals on it arent correct, but considering that neither is the paint or trim, I dont care. I think it looks great. I hope you do too.
Now I just have to figure out how to attach photos to this post.
Cheers,
Rob

I didn't get an email from you, probably bounced by the edu address. Can you send me a pm with engine and VIN #'s ?
