How do
Ive just acquired a Dolly 1500 HL and im going to need to get a towbar on it in the near future. Dont mind fitting one myself but equally happy to use a firm for quickness if anyone can recommend a company that caters for the car.
If im buying and fitting my own, any suggestions on where to start looking?
Cheers

Post in the "wanted" section on here.
These often get given away, if you ask nicely!

NGU has had two different tow bars in the past so you'll not have problem fitting one! They mount behind the bumper irons with a strengthener that bolts through the boot floor.
A wanted advert on here should find you one

Rob,
I guess its too far and gonna cost too much, but if you pay for the freight, I have a towbar, tongue, bolts, plates and some electrics, you can have for free.
Problem is..... I'm in Australia

Sorry for thread jacking but does anyone know if a 1500 is OK towing a caravan? I'm sort of doing a custom 70s caravan project to go with the Dolly...

Well the reason I want a towbar is I want to use the dolly to tow our 1962 prototype folding camper.

Hi folks, I am contemplating fitting a tow bar to my 1500 HL, just wondering is there any downside to this besides the obvious economy issue, what would a second hand one be worth.

I was very glad I had one when someone ran into the back of my car.

I think that you need to be careful if it's a auto.

You would for certain need a gearbox oil cooler if it is an auto.

Hi Tony, the car is a manual 1500, would there be any issues there. Thanks for your comments. Myles.

I would not think so, provided you are not towing beyond the weight limit's. It wont make an ideal tow car because of the longish distance from the towbar to the rear wheels and being rear wheel drive.
Tony.

Its just for occasional use Tony, a small trailer with some
firewood. Thanks for your comments. Myles.
