Welcome to the forum.
Just be careful what you say about that particular supplier. They have registered and posted on here. Although I haven't seen any posts from them in recent months, they could still be monitoring this forum.
Good to see that you're getting stuck in. Please save that 1850 if you can. Is it an auto? If so then I can add it to my list. Please get some photos up as soon as you can. I know you're a so-called "technophobe" but at the end of the day, computers are just tools (incredibly complex ones) so you just need to know how to use them. I think you should get the engine running first, get the car drivable then the rest will follow. I'm fortunate in that my own 1850 was still a runner and in drivable condition (the last MoT only ran out in September 2013). I have all the parts catalogues in PDF format so let me know if you need one.
