Help for an old lady please

A friend of mine (the old lady) wants me to get rid of her Dolomite 1800HE auto. Maybe 1978, not sure until I find the log book.
The lady is in hospital and I fear she will not be going home.
The car is tired, but not a lost cause.
We live in the Isle of Man, so, does anyone know of someone that would be interested in the car, or can I scrap it?

1850 auto is a nice cruise-machine.

can you put any pics up? (of the car, not the old lady! )

without trying to sound insensitive it'd be a crying shame to scrap a usable motor (and obviously also a shame to hear about 'the old lady')

There are a few car deliverers out there. I know (well have kind of met) a couple of people who have used them, don't know if the isle of man is an issue to that sort of person, but it would be worth checking out if someone was interested...do you want to scrap it?

david its About 6-7 hours driving time not including the floaty boaty thing just to get there.(with trailer in en tow)
too scared to work out fuel cost.

Its not for me Justyn, but a guy I bought a dolomite sprnt from(Adrian, chip i if you are watching) got a stag from way up north to way down south for something like £180. I guess it would come out to £250 for the whole car, which isn't bad maybe.....

Could have my 1850 for that, or maybe even the pair that go up next.....but its doable...that said Justyn, if you fancied an 1850 you could do worse than one from 6214 classics!!!

I think i had been on the fizzy pop when i posted as i had mis read your post.
A mate of mine wants me to go to manchester to trailer a mk2 cavalier back to soton. i tried telling him that it would cost more in fuel than what the car is worth but he set his heart on it!!
Soton to manchester and back at 18 mpg, plus the trailer hire.

Apparently it hadn't moved for ages but has now dissappeared!

Is the car Black? Sounds like a 1500SE to me if its a 1978 car. Were they all manual though?

I'm sure there must be a local enthusiast who would take it off your hands? Do you have a community website for that sort of thing?

The car is Blue, for sure it's an 1800HE auto and it has to go next week.
I don't know of any local enthusiasts.
