First off, i deleted the original thread as some comments were made on this forum which to be honest upset me, my cars are always repaired/restored to the best of my knowledge and if im unsure then i seek advice, if anyone sees anything im doing wrong then tell me, but please do it on MY thread and not someone else's.

A few members have dropped me a PM regarding the state of MWK and if the car is safe and if im continuing the work on her..........
There is no need to worry, the car is safe and im working like a little beaver on her.

But its prompted me to reopen a thread......

so here goes, mainly photos im afraid but you will get a snap shot of the last 6 months or so....

The original thread i think ended here...







what this dont show is the 5ft sill floor has been replaced, new jacking points,
inner strengthener has been stitch in and reinforced and a new club outer sill has been fitted, along with a
new rear wheel arch!!

After 10months of cutting, welding and prepping the car was finally ready for primer, this was only done today (16/09/2012)















That's all for now, hoping to have it painted very soon

Really pleased this thread has been resurrected. Can't see this 1300 looking anything but totally stunning when it's finished. Good call keeping the original paint on the roof and pillars. I believe I'm correct in saying that this 1300 was 90 odd percent original before the sympathetic restoration. That's pretty good going for a car that is 45 years old! Keep up the stirling work Nathan.

It was me who pointed out the rotten sill structure. I did so in your thread shortly before you removed it.
I am entirely consistent on this subject having pointed it out numerous times over the years.
My ability to spot this is based on experience.
As a moderator I am unable to let such a situation pass without pointing out what I know. Failure for me to do so
would be absolutely reprehensible.

Oh yes, the saga of Andyboy's 1300.
I am disappointed and appalled at how this panned out.
To use a cliche, I felt I was ploughing a lone furrow going against various folk including you.
My posts were made in the relevant threads.
I concede that it is undoubtedly true that I know more about Andy and his situation. I am not
prepared to discuss what is his private business any further.

I suggest that the time has come to leave this be.

Ok, Mwk has been prepped, painted and then repainted!!

My first attempt at painting the old girl didn't go to well, looked great to start with but it then sank and pulled tight.

So the decision was taken to talk to a local paint chap who agreed to re prep the car and paint it again!!

What a great job he has done, looks amazing, some small imperfections to remedy after the new year but to say i'm happy is an understatement, reason my paint job didn't go well is the painter reckons MWK has been repainted since leaving the factory some 44yrs ago, he says its been painted in a synthetic paint which is why (in places) the paint has reacted, if we had known the car would of been Barr coated first, but we didn't and there is no obvious signs of a repaint and no accident damage to warrant a repaint, why Cyril had this done is a mystery to us!!

Anyway, she will be rebuilt over the winter including new brakes and be ready to go soon after the new year!!
