Right...
There appears to be two types - I have a N reg 1850 Manual and need a replacement Fuel Pump.
Which one do I need?
TKC 3419 or 312167
Obviously, 312167 is listed - HOWEVER - both look the same to me - both show the pipe connection coming out of the housing in a 'v' type configuration. If anything, my pump looks more like the 1500 pictured below these. The car has never run well; wonder if the wrong pump has been fitted?!

Cheers.

Check the pumps carefully. I bought one for my Sprint "just in case", but when that time came (stuck along Chelsea Embankment in rush hour traffic!) I found that the new pump needed a spacer block in order to work properly.

There is a similar posting on here - where the same question was asked, if I remember the replies were the pump with the longer arm requires the spacer washer and the short arm does not.

Yup; that sums it up. The question is.....Do you have a thick plastic block spacer between the petrol pump and the cylinder block. If so , you need the later pump which I see listed as TKC3419 or RKC5051 in the 1976 onwards parts book.
If there is no thick plastic spacer you need the early 312167 pump and the standard thin paper gasket.
The later pump and thick gasket is completely compatible with early cars if you fit the longer setscrews or studs.
The change point for the 1850 / Sprint later pump was May 1978, but bear in mind that yours may have been changed before.
HTH,
Tony.

Really?
My late 79 sprint had a delco short arm pump which didnt ever look like it had been changed...
I susepct they just fitted what was in the parts bin...you can also use Spit pumps but you need to reorient the hoses a bit...
The crucial fitting tip is make sure the arm picks up on the top of the cam and doesnt slide underneath it, or you wont get far...
about 200 yds usually.

I mentioned this in a posting sometime ago, Rimmers part number 312167 is listed as fitting an early sprint of 1850 but i could not get it to fit as it has a curved lever and the sprint/1850 has a straight lever. TKC 3419 needs a packing block as mentioned before but RKC 1624 looks as if it may fit but it is listed for a 1500 instead.
I have cleaned up my old pump and hope that it works.

I vaguely remember that whichever one you order, you get the one that needs the block. So prepare for that
