ONLY RECENTELY JOINED THE FORUM SO I DECIDED TO POST SOME PICTURES OF KRJ AFTER A SPRING CLEAN. HAD TO REPAIR A FEW SCABS THAT HAD BROKEN OUT ON DRIVERS SIDE , DOORS AND REAR ARCH . WAS RESPRAYED IN 2004 SO COLOUR MATCH NOT PERFECT. MAGENTA ISNT THE ORIGINAL COLOUR BUT I LIKED IT .

Well after i took these pictures i only used KRJ up untill June 2013 and then it went to a lockup for the next 3 and a bit years. After sorting out a stuck clutch and a failed clutch master cylinder and some small jobs on the brakes i have an MOT. But the most pleasing part is free road tax . I now plan on using KRJ as my daily runner. I know the bodywork will suffer on the salty winter roads but leaving it in the lockup it suffered mechanically . I am looking forward to using it daily and hopefully it will reward me with reliable service, i will keep you informed.

I've moved the thread here because it IS Dolomite-related. I've also resized the photos.

Well winter flew by and apart from a very sticky choke it has served me well. To get an mot in October 2016 the nearside sill had a few quick repairs which have stood up well. But after a job change and the use of a company van I decided to strip the nearside sill completely and repair it properly. I have replaced the inner sill and made the centre membrane from some nice thick steel put the jacking point squares on out of 5mm box painting as much of the internals as I could. The inner sills definitely have some sort of zinc coating on them. The outer sill was done in the past by someone else and the step looks a bit thin and frilly now so I will have to remove the doors to clean it up properly. Then back on with the doors to line up the sill and repair the nose and lower wing.

Well managed to get the outer sill on and repair the front behind the wing. Got the gaps a bit wider also so the clearance under the doors is better. The outer sill was a panel I picked up from an auto jumble a few years back on the back it said Abercorn Product. I have a club lower wing repair which I trial fitted but no picture yet but the fit was very good, pictures next week I think. Twenty years ago I would carry on the next day but now the old bones ache to much.

Top workmanship, as ever!

That Abercorn cill looks to have the correct shape to the underside?

Yes Alun the outer sill has got a shape much like the original but the rear section caused a bit of a problem as the fit was not very good so a bit of manipulation was required. The club lower wing repair section is on now, fit is superb by the way. Doing the filler work now so doors to come off again. I was going to stonechip and overpaint the repairs but I have decided to just top coat instead, trying to match the magenta paint as close as possible.

Managed to paint the sill and lower front wing tonight with a couple of rattle cans. Poured some pre heated waxoyl down the inner sill, and started to underseal the inner sill. When the paint hardens I will refit the doors which have a few scabs on the lower edge, to be dealt with later on. I think I will drill some holes behind the tread plates to pour wax or oil down the outer sill side of the centre panel. Paint looks a decent match but I have not seen it in natural light yet.
