Hi All!

I've been trying to find the engine number on my 2 Sprints ready to apply for heritage certificates and I can't find either of them where the book says they should be on the shelf of the block.

Please can someone enlighten me?

I have yet to see an engine number on a slant 4 block that I have owned....
The only one I remember was on a gold seal lump that's now in Ricky's LCO.

Don't worry is what I'm trying to say...
You should get the heritage bumpf from the chassis plate.

Very faint, probably need to a wire brush, mirror and a inspection lamp - and a third hand.

Here is the one on my spare engine

I have only once looked for a slant four engine number.....
it was on the block very close to the cylinder head, just visible when peering into the gap of the inlet manifold (early Sprint),
so quite a different to Russ's photo. In other words, keep looking .

I havent looked lower down where the pictures are showing it so will look there later.

I am not sure of the originality of my cars, so was hoping to check the numbers against the V5c Alun.

Russ looks like he has used the chalk method to show the numbers up. Good idea. My engine numbers (all 3 engines) are in the same spot as Russ's.
