Where are all of these cars hiding now?
From the DVLA database:

BNT 853T - SORN'd
DWD 853T - Unlicensed since 2003

ENB 442T - SORN'd

EEU 138W - Taxed until 2014
CHK 288T - SORN'd
GOA 724N - Unlicensed since 2000
BAM 616V - Unlicensed since 1997

TUT 138R - Not on the Database
XNV 101S - SORN'd

HUD 891S - SORN'd
LWC 170Y - SORN'd
ENB 442T - SORN'd
LAC 931P - Taxed until 2014
KVO 100W - Taxed until 2014
XSC 157W - Unlicensed since 1997
JHE 829W - Unlicensed since 2008
JFC 364W - SORN'd
APG 775T - Unlicensed since 1999

MUL 916L - Unlicensed since 2001
RJF 344R - Unlincensed since 2012
OUL 702R - Taxed until 2014

Yes, it's a rather slow night for me...

In 1996 my 1850HL would still be in London, it changed hands pretty frequently at the time, the 1300 would have been in Coventry, probably still with the first owner...

good to see that the majority are either sorn'ed or taxed!

Well, 15 to 12 IS a majority! And at this time of year the sorned to taxed ratio is not unexpected! And only one is definitely dead, the other 11 being MIA. Considering that for most of these cars, 1996 was half a lifetime ago, I suppose its a pretty good result really.
Does anyone have any info on the MIAs? I notice that a couple are very recent, so they're either in trade or someone's going to get a big fine!

OUL is one of Ted's old cars now in the keeping of John Glenn

Isn't VVJ Spiro's car?

SORN could also mean scrapped if the owner stripped and scrapped the remains themselves as the new style V5 doesn't allow 'scrapped' unless the shell was taken with reg and VIN to a official vehicle dismantlers or scrap dealer.

Rest assured that BAM 616 V is alive and well.

Laid up in 1998 for some light restoration work that got a bit out of hand.

Numerous projects, one house move, 3 jobs and a marriage later BAM 616 V is in good structural and mechanical order but still needs the bits putting back in the right places.

She is in a warm dry garage and ran up to temperature yesterday by co incidence

She was off the road when the SORN ruling came into place and so appears as unlicensed.

meanwhile I have been to every SODIT since 1986 although admittedly VW/Audi transportation since 1997

Finally, next year, I will have had her 28 years which is actually longer longer than I have not had her. Perhaps that will be the motivator to get her back where she belongs.

I won't promise though

Dave
