Far from a resto, but progress either way and almost ready for the MOT! I've managed to resolve a fair few niggles that needed addressing with a little help from the forum. An oe antenna was fitted to replace the modern aftermarket one, thanks to Mike on here for supplying it.

After a worrying drive home from Dublin to Nottingham (worrying but trouble free) without any temp or fuel gauge it was thankfully an easy fix by changing the voltage stabiliser. The drive was made even more amusing by the fact the satnav on the mrs's phone was set to avoid motorways, so we went down a fair few country roads in the middle of the night with no full beam, again this was an simple fix with some forum knowledge and a new stalk switch!

i really loved the old pioneer 8 track player when i owned this car the first time around, 5 years a go. After wiring it up it seemed it had seen better days and i wasn't getting a pleasing sound from it. Rather than sling it i sent it off to agenta audio for a service where Colin worked some magic and replaced the internal amplifiers to bring the sound back to how it was intended to be. Id recommend him to anyone with a ropey vintage radio!

still left to complete is a replacement drivers side footwell, I've got the panel bit just need someone with some welding expertise. I think it may make its way to a body shop in the next couple of weeks. Oh and i still need to source the 1850 front pipe bracket as mines sheared! I think club stock has ceased and no joy with rimmers.

Well the Dolly is now the owner of a new 12 month ticket. I've had a Rimmers r/h front footwell welded in, they've done a cracking job. I'll get some pics of the work later. I've also had the front pipe exhaust bracket fabricated as I was unable to source one. The car had full underbody wax oil and the paintwork also had a quick wax yesterday, insurance now sorted. Just need to get up to the post office for a tax disc and we're back in business!

Cheers :D

Yeah I'm chuffed with the sound system, its the only one I've ever known to be in the car and I think it was in there when my Grandad got the car in 1981. Any1 have an idea if Pioneer 8 tracks were fitted OE?
Again I cant thank Colin at Agenta audio enough for refurbishing it. I was gutted when I found it no longer worked.

The drivers floor pan is much improved. I've had a friend do a real neat job and no longer am I reinacting a scene of the flinstones!

The circular black plastic part between the chrome window winder and the door card on your driver's door doesn't look quite right to me. Is it on backwards? Then again, it might just be my eyesight! That aside, it looks a lovely car.

They are 185 60 13 but i'm told the R888R comes up slightly wider than a regular 185 60. They seem bang on for sprint rims either way. Speedo seems to be spot on to even though they come up slighty smaller in overall diameter than the original sprint tyre size.

Its plenty stiffer than it was and does corner really well. A little crashy over bumps but not as bad as i was expecting. Its still very drivable and i've not lost any teeth yet.

I am going to have to raise the front a little. As clearance between the ground and the front subframe, plus some exhaust mounts is shocking. Cant avoid speed humps forever.
