Spitfire type and other alternative wheels

I have seen on Ebay today 2 lots of alternative wheels that fit Spitfire and Herald, GT6 etc both are 5.5j x 13, one set a weller wheel style steel wheel, e bay number 351065711697, and the other are listed as Spitfire/Formula ford, ebay listing number 181409126405, 5.5jx13x16 which I assume is the offset is it? My wheels are marked as 4.5jx13x39 so the offset if that figure is for the offset is considerably larger.
Does it mean the smaller the figure the greater the offset will the tyres stick out at all.The weller type just state 5.5x13 no offset given.
I know that this has been asked before about the suitability of spitfire type wheels many times but I cannot seem to see from previous posts wether 5.5j wheels are suitable or not I know the SE had special wheels in that they weren't spitfire ones although they looked like It
So will either of these style/type fit is the basic question no doubt some one will let me know.

i have run the rt16 wheels on my toledo with no issues at all. They give the car a slightly more aggressive stance, but no rubbing.
the tyres were 165/70 13, but 175/70 would be no issue.

Spitfire offset wheels will work on a dolomite.
Its the other way round that has clearance issues at the front on the Spit caliper. Sprint wheels work on a spit but need a spacer.

The 5J SE wheels have a slightly lower offset than the Spit 5J equivalent.

Spit 5J's are hard to come by. Most are 4.5

If they are alloy be careful. They may well leak on the bead seat, but the ride should improve as they weigh a bit less.

Be careful to use the right nuts if replacing steels with tapered nuts...

I need clarification on the offset figure if possible, I know spit wheels will fit and se wheels are similar with a different offset but I don't want to buy them if the offset figure means they wont fit, as the figure is a lot different to the standard wheel so that is what I need information on if possible.

If it came from a Spit it will work on a dolomite....

But the best wheels for a dolomite are IMHO Sprint ones....
Cheap light and readilly available and work with good tyre sizes and dont foul.

Spit steels are - steel. Heavy so the ride is worse...

As Scottie says - ye cannae change the laws o' physics cap'n....
