£9349.66 in today's money so not bad I guess, sure Sprint was over £4000 though.

They have done what they still do today in adverts and on TV. Show the top spec model and then show a price for the lower spec models.

Try that today on a BMW and you could buy a car with the difference.

The 1850HL was over 5 large in the 79 autocar road test IIRC.
The Sprint was about 500 quid more...

Alun published the price list recently at various dates...

Note the differential over a Morona....worth every penny!

worked at lex mead at that time, moranas were the class act of the day !!!
just guess which way it was going to go when you hit the stop pedal :shock:
