Â£9349.66 in today's money so not bad I guess, sure Sprint was over Â£4000 though.

Yeah, that price is probably the 1300.

They have done what they still do today in adverts and on TV. Show the top spec model and then show a price for the lower spec models.

Try that today on a BMW and you could buy a car with the difference.

The 1850HL was over 5 large in the 79 autocar road test IIRC.
The Sprint was about 500 quid more...

Alun published the price list recently at various dates...

Note the differential over a Morona....worth every penny!
