Not a Dolomite, cool nonetheless

#1 Post by DutchSprint »

Besides my daily job and Sprint enthusiastic I'm also a great Porsche fan. I'm writing on a regular basis for the Dutch RS Porsche Magazine and for that reason I get to see and drive a lot of cool stuff. The past half year I've spent more than a few hours at a small company nearby that is specialized in finetuning. One of the owners likes the more "rough" stuff and has built a few outlaws in the past years. His most recent project is this (original) RSR body 911. I really dig that bare metal engine decklid with louvres and the original Gotti rims. He will be fitting Jenvey throttle bodies but even without it this car sounds really mighty.

but at the end of the day you cant change the laws of physics....

Still cant quite see a porsche as anything other than a beetle GT myself...

The engine is in the wrong place.....nobody ever got horses to push.

What do you mean by "outlaw"? We're not familiar with the term. Lost in translation pherhaps? Somehow, I don't think it has anything to do with Robin Hood...

In reference to Porsche's the term "Outlaw" has been around since the 1950's-60's. An "Outlaw" is a modified car that is suitable for serious driving. It means simply some level of customization or personalization. Cars that are a bit off the beaten path. A street rod, as you wish.

I like the term outlaw when used as above. I dislike people who say their car is an outlaw when all they have done is lower it & remove the hubcaps.

Methinks an "outlaw" is what we would call a "rat rod"!

And I think it looks brilliant! And ratting a porker takes some some SERIOUS cojones!
