West Yorkshire meetings 2015

Thought I'd start a new thread for 2015.

Since starting the monthly meetings (details in my sig below) it has been a small but steady turnout. If you can possibly make it to the meeting (with or without your Dolly) then please do.

As I mentioned in the previous thread, the next meeting will be on the 6th of January. I need to get some ideas for Northern Dolly Day and I'll be starting a separate thread in due course. The best way would be to have it at a show. I'm willing to get on board with other Triumph clubs to get the TDC "out there".

The next meeting is this coming Tuesday (the 6th) so please make it if you can. You don't have to be a TDC member (you'll be "encouraged" to join) and you don't have to bring a Dolomite with you.

I've had members PM or text me to let me know they couldn't make previous meetings which is a nice touch so I'd like to thank everyone who has done this. It is much appreciated.

Tonight was the usual turnout with Trevor and Bob attending this time. I didn't come away empty handed. Bob brought the steel wheel trims he offered me so I just need the steel wheels to go with them. Unfortunately, my 1850 was playing up (autobox not changing up) so I turned back and took the Astra instead.

The next meeting will be on the 3rd of February.

It was just me and Bob tonight. My 1850 made it there and back without any trouble and it started on the button at the end of the meeting.

Well it was just me and Bob which is becoming quite a regular thing. I'm conidering making the meeting a bi-monthly one. It is publicised in the mag and in my forum signature. As the saying goes: Use it or lose it.

Do the local club members want these meetings. If not Dave and I could have just gone out to a convenient local for a pint.

At last nights meet we discussed at length my 1300s hot start problems and a few other heads would have been good to bounce ideas. Not to say that the discussions on my thread aren't helpful, they are brilliant, and the input and help from fellow club members is great.

We also had a brief discussion on a venue for NDD and again more heads more ideas and convenient dates could have been discussed to make the day more attractive to more members. I also suggested Mini Meets. Another club I'm in do these and we meet up with our MGs and Rovers for a pint, a meal or at a country park, or car shows for a friendly get together, tech help etc. and are very popular.

If this is the sort of thing you may want to do with or without your triumph come to the meetings or at least give Dave some input on his threads.
