valve spring collar availability

#1 Post by andrew_27 »

Ive got a spare cylinder head i've been rebuilding, i'm getting to the reassembly stages but i've hit a bit of a brick wall... i don't seem to be able to find anyone who stocks the lower valve spring collars (part number 105118) i bought a set from canleys a couple of years ago but they don't do them anymore... surely they're available somewhere seeing as they're shared with a few other Triumph engines?

Do they have to be new? Do they wear out?

i suppose they don't have to be new no, just as long as they are in good condition but id prefer them to be. they can develop hairline cracks in them after a lot of use/abuse. Last head i rebuilt you could see daylight through the cracks in all of them!
