...dolomite.
Hi im Alan from Rhyl in North Wales. Im enjoying the retired life and im looking to get new(ish) car. Witch dolomite is the best to go for first?
Id like a drivers car, cause there are nice roads around here, a practical car to carry my flower pots and a reliable car to get the wife back and fore to chapel.
Updrading from my Skoda Estelle.
Any advice?
Thans,
Alan

All the cars in the range are a nice drive, abviously the higher models have more "go". If you aren't too worried about having a sprint, an 1850 may well be the way to go, with 85% of the go for about 50% of the money.

That sounds apealing. The 1500 is the one below that isnt it. Whats that like?

It's a bit more leisurely, as the engine doesn't really like being revved hard, as it has a long stroke and the bearings are not as big as they should be for an engine with that spec. The 1850 is a lot more rev-happy, and because of the much more advanced engine design, will return slightly better fuel economy figures on a run.

Been away with work for a while so just seen your post.
I am in Kinmel Bay and have a 1972 1850. If you get round to looking at one to buy and want to come around and have a look at mine and get some pointers before you do then you are welcome.
Is it going to be your only car? (Before the complaints come I am a club member and love my Dolly).
If it is have you thought about the time delay in getting parts when required?
Most people on here either have at least one much newer car or a field full of Dollies as a source of spares.

Quite a sizeable cluster of members is forming in the Rhyll/Prestatyn area now. We have a vacancy for an Area Rep for North Wales (and South Wales as it happens) - any volunteers?

Hello Andy
I mentioned this and you sent me a mail a few months ago.
I then got dragged away with work but should be around most of the time now but will be skint - I've told them to shove it up their rear end.
I don't really know what it involves but if nobody else wants to do it I will have a go.
