door locks and choke

Hi all I have my new sprint reduced to atoms and am working through the resto. I have bits everywhere and some bits out with painters etc. so don't have access to some of the components at the mo
I am working on the harness and getting on well. I have replaced all connectors with new pins etc. also tinned all wire ends and heatshrinked everything and filled all contacts with dielectric grease. I can't find a new battery lead multi connector so I will have to nickel plate the old one. I am adding a few additions and could do with a little assistance if someone has the time.
If anyone has time I'd really like to know how much movement is in the door locking knobs? I'm going to order door solenoids and need to know how much travel the dolly sprint locks have.
Also I am toying with the idea of remote start and need to know how much travel is on the choke on the carb so if anyone could measure with cable pulled on and off would be really helpful. I suspect somehow I'll need to find out what force is needed to move the choke on and off at the engine end - any ideas? ( a spring weighing scale or something similar???????)
Thanks if you can help
