Hey everyone, Bob here.
Thought I'd introduce myself as a first time Dolly owner.

Purchased this gorgeous 1500HL from near Land's End a couple of weeks ago.

Currently going through the rigours of sorting out brakes, clutch, gearbox etc. etc.

Just fitted some refurbished dolly sprint wheels to her, and couldn't resist a few vanity shots :)

Welcome to the forum.

I've moved your thread here because it is Dolomite-related and seems to be the place for newbies to introduce themselves. It would be worth starting a thread in the resto scetion of the forum to document your progress and to keep the rest of us posted on your progress. Don't forget to join the Club as please ask as many questions as you need. There's no such thing as a stupid question (we all have to start somewhere).

I still struggle to see why anyone would ever have ordered a car THAT colour....

Nice looking car all the same...and welcome to the asylum. The dolomite ownershio experience is mostly a +ve one.
and this forum helps a lot in that respect.

Actually not a bad shade when it's all shined up, although when it starts losing it's sheen it looks horrible.

Welcome to the discussion board.

Are you new to classic cars and what are your plans in relation to this car?

I am one of the few people who do not have a modern car and have been driving the same 1500HL daily since new in 1977. It will clock up 300,000 miles in the next few months.

My wife also drives a 1500HL and my daughters did when they living at home.

The main thing is I hope you enjoy having a Dolomite and I hope you will join the TDC.
