Hi All,
Please can someone tell me which way around the metal brackets fit on the cylinder block , as they are handed

And also which way the rubbers go on , as the studs are off set

Many thanks Simon

The deeper one goes on the nearside and the cutouts go at the top.

I think the rubber blocks should be symmetrical when new and the studs are in the middle of the mounting plate.

Hi John,
Thanks for the info , do you have any pics please

Also of the rubbers , as the studs are off set from the bolt holes that fit onto subframe

Thanks Simon :)

As Jonners said. The cutouts to the top & front. The rubbers are symetrical so will fit on either side.

Thanks for the diagram

Still confused about the rubbers

They are both the same , not handed

But the studs that go through the metal brackets are higher on the rubbers , or lower on the rubbers

Will send a pic

Thanks Simon :)

I have found the same, there is a 1/4 inch or 6.35mm off-set between the two holes and the studs.
To level out my engine and gearbox I have one up and one down but presently seem unable to get the last two bolts in.

Are these new old stock or "repro"
As Mart said, they should be symetrical.

Probably why you are having grief fitting them.

Hmmm! :-k

I'll check out the mounts I have tomorrow (erm, today). If they are offset then I would mount them as the bottom pic with the studs offset to the top.

I've checked and, as I thought, the studs are in-line with the holes.

Sounds like you are both suffering from repro rubbish then.

Its hard enough fitting the near side one when they are right if you are unlucky, Sometimes they do just plop right in.

If its out of alignment like this you are on a hiding to nothing. I'd send them back if recently purchased.

I have a suspicion TR7 ones are the same, (rubber bit) but use different brackets.
