Early cars had the 'SPRINT' nose badge up until about 1975, the 'TRIUMPH' badge was then used up until about 1980 and the very last Dolomites had the laurel leaf badge with the black background.

Yes, I think a lot of people fit the early badge to later cars.

You may know that originally they hoped to call the Sprint the Dolomite 135 (because BL hoped it would produce 135 BHP but they couldn't put the engines together well enough on the production line to achieve this figure) and the car was intended to have a 'DOLOMITE 135' nose badge. There is one listed on E-bay at the moment.

I used to have a Sprint that was first registered in April 1980 and that had the 'TRIUMPH' nose badge, so the laurel leaf one must only have been fitted to last few thousand Dolomites.

Yes I know about the 135 stuff. The one on ebay ended today while i was working on my sprint lol. it went for £41

I would love and set of 135 badges though, or I may enquire about making some 160 badges

Yes it was yet another wonderful decision of management and bean counters to save some peanuts.

The 70,s middle managers were badge concious as they are today but yet another British own goal on the down ward spiral to corporate failure.

There's a 135 boot lid badge on ebay at the moment.

Does anyone know if there were any of the round D pillar badges made for the 135's, I've only ever seen boot and bonnet ones?

Hi Mart,
I'd love a set as they are the only ones I don't have.

If you see some for sale can you give me a shout?

Thanks,

Len

PS Will you be at Braemar this year?
