Hi I have a 1980 1300 Dolomite. I have noticed a squeaking noise that has progressively got worse since I bought the car 11 months ago. The noise happens when I am driving the car, when I press the accelerator and goes away when I take my foot off the accelerator. There is no noise when the car idling. Advice is appreciated please.

Check where the pedal bolts to the bulkhead. The bulkhead is prone to breaking in this area.

Hi thanks for that but I think the noise is coming from the engine area.

Apart from a mouse stuck under the pedal :D

get someone to press the accelerator whilst you look under the bonnet and I suspect it may be from the carb linkage.
Another possibility is the alternator/ fan belt that may only react when you rev and the load changes.

I'd check the fanbelt first1
