Practical Classics Dolomite Buyer's Guide

In desperate need of newspaper for today's spray job I popped into the supermarket across the road (yes, ran out of old newspaper and masking paper). Thumbed through an issue of Practical Classics, straight to page 88.

I've learned:
Dolomites were in production from 1970 to 1980
1850s and Sprints have the same bottom end as a 1500
If an 1850 lump is rattly it's probably the chain and tensioner
Sprint's have a duplex chain so don't suffer this problem
Sprint engine is half of a Stag
If a Sprint doesn't warm up check the thermostat is fitted, it may have been removed to hide overheating problems

Unfortunately the cover price and small pages meant this magazine is not suitable for today's spray jobs, I splashed £2 on a Torygraph instead and get the bonus of being able to submit the completed (hopefully) crossword for the prize draw.

I'm pretty sure they give the same "check the thermostat is there" thing for any car with a reputation of getting too hot...

Sounds like a fairly badly researched, pi55-poor article. We are in regular contact with PC, so I am surprised that we were not contacted.

And Neil Campbell is a fan of "our" cars. He obviously didn't write the article...
