What a day and going again tomorrow!
I saw my first Dolomite straight eight and also Andy Rouse's racing Sprint together with the Sprint that set the first Touring car 100 mph lap at Silverstone.
If that was not enough our Daughter Rebecca was doing some presenting on the big screen and later took me for a run up the hill in a Porsche Targa 4 and it sure feels good being on the performance side of the barriers being driven by your little girl
I got to meet several stars including the original Stig though I did not speak to him Jensen Button took up a McClaren in our batch.
Going down is as much fun as going up but she tried hard to do some burnups the traction control would not allow them.
Last thing we met a decent couple of lads and when asked what he drove he replied a 911 but he also had had a Sprint and was looking for a good one now. I was asked what the best way to tune one was and I said "You want Trackerjack brakes, a well balanced engine and the car to be built by Mad Mart".

I am so jealous! Been twice before, in 1996 and 2004, and I was happy enough just watching and getting up close to so many cars I just never see here. Would love to go again, but also to the Goodwood Revival or Silverstone Classic, neither of which I have managed yet. So far away but perhaps one day!
My only consolation is that I get to compete in our version in NZ.

Enjoy yourself tomorrow.

Thanks Geoff, I did
I think this event gets bigger every year, and the stars of motorsport flock to join in. This year I think Valentino Rossi was the biggest hit as the crowds round him were astonishing and of course he was interviewed by Suzi Perry (also a national treasure).
Rebecca was interviewing people through the day and also interviewed Sir Jackie Stewart which was televised.
Andy Rouse took his old Sprint up the hill and it sure looked fast still and not out of place atall.
Wife Diane joined Rebecca and got a hill trip in a 560 bhp Porsche Cayenne and I watched from the house front as she kicked up the dirt on the apex

and when she came down minus a crash helmet I heard a bloke near me say "cor its a girl driving that one", I was proud because she gives it some beans plus Porsche GB trust her with their cars

Great event, never visited though: more biased towards Revival (visiting again this year) but this would be my number 2 on the list.
Some footage of Jean Ragnotti in a R5 Maxi Turbo:

You should be very proud Jon. I caught a lot if the footage and was very pleased to see Rebecca involved so much. She did a great job and looks vsr glam too so sure her career will keep prospering. I even caught the interview with yourself. Did you swear?

No I did not swear I was just useless on camera and as wooden as Pinnochio

so wife Diane was very good I thought.
I did not know that this little interview made the TV.
