windscreen wiper motor

Hi all. can of you help with a problem with my wipers. Basically what happens is I turn ignition on with wiper switch in off position the wiper s run on slow speed. put switch in low speed they work as normal. fast speed ditto,any idea's.Myles.

Your wiper self park will run with switch off and ignition on so needs to tell when the park position is reached so it then cuts out.
Sounds like its not detecting properly....

You could shut off the self park supply and park the wipers "manually" to get you out of trouble for a while...
Its on the green feed out of the fuse box. I forget the colour....its in the wiring diagram.

What I've experienced in the past is the nut coming loose which connects the wiper rod to the motor. The motor shaft then has end float which means the park position doesn't work, as the internal switch just rides up over the cam. Try pushing on the nut/shaft with the wipers on and see if they will then park.

All is well.gremlins have moved off and wipers are working fine. Thanks again. Myles. :lol:
