I do realise this question has been asked many times before, but tyre models and prices change.
I'm not in a hurry to buy tyres, but they are next but one on my priority list for my 1850 on steel wheels.
First is to get a set of 4 spare wheels with the correct part number for an 1850 and get them powder coated.
Next is to get the tyres.
I've had a wee look around and according to the tyre rating labels Falken Sincera SN8732 Ecorun are rated A for wet grip.
Does anyone have any experience of these tyres and how accurate are the ratings? £43.50 fully fitted.

Bill - is the above because the car is in Scotland where it always rain - well it seems too especially when I am there, either rains on a Thursday or Friday. The lads at the train depot blame me for bringing the rain with me, but your on the east coast where the weather is better - more tropical weather so they say.

As a regular visitor to Scotland you KNOW the grass is greener here.
Simply because it rains more!

Seriously, the number of times I've heard tourists exclaim over how green the grass is..............

I know the limits of the car on completely dry roads (bumps excepted!), but it's a treacherous beast on damp roads and undriveable on wet roads. My recent runs in a 1500 Dolly have shown me it's my 1850's fault, so first thing is tyres.....

Hi Bill,

I recently fitted the Falken Sincera SN832 (NOT SN8732) Eco Run 175/70R13 on the front of my Sprint before competing on the recent Berwick Classic Rally, and I have to say that I was delighted and impressed with them. It was absolutely chucking it down most of the time and the grip was great, even when braking hard at test finish. I paid £44.00 fully fitted at my local Hi-Q outlet so price is good. I will be fitting them to the back as well when I get the clutch fixed.

I might live in England but I cannot get much closer to Edinburgh without crossing the border and I know what that rain can be like when blown by an easterly gale. At the Torness car park test on the BC it was horizontal!

175/70/13? Isn't that the Sprint size?

I've got 155/80/13 Uniroyal RainExperts/General Altimax Winters on my steel wheeled Dolomites...

My 1974 Triumph Toledo 1300 (retro-fitted Dolomite Sprint front & rear anti-roll bars) has always behaved impeccably on wet roads, with either 13 x 5½ inch Cosmic or Dolomite Sprint GKN alloy wheels, shod with either Uniroyal Rallye 180 (175 SR13), Kelly Springfield Steelmark (175 SR13) or Firestone S211 (185/70 R13) radial tyres.

Thanks for all the info people, appreciated. I've checked the. Wheels, they are correct and in good condition, so I've ordered two new Falken tyres for next sat and i'LL get two more next month.
If that doesn't fix it, it's suspension time.
