The Dollytunnel - temporary garaging solution

I needed to create a temporary garage whilst sorting out a permanent home. I settled on this and I am pretty chuffed how it turned out.

Take one cheepo 6m x 3m polytunnel from ebay.
Cover in a 7m x 5m camouflage tarp.
Black bungee cords and marquee tent pegs to stop it blowing away.
Stop the rising damp by laying a 4m x 3m black DPM membrane for the floor.

Open all the side vents to allow plenty of airlflow and voilà - one dry storage solution for about £160. The tarp should reduce the greenhouse effect in there and make it less of an eyesore (not that i really care about that). Took about a day to erect on my own.

Should last over a year OK - what do you think?

Looks great but what about wind resistance?

In the last year I have had to refit my storm force cover twice.....I didn't loose it but it partially came off in a force ten.

Great idea, would last 5 mins at mine though where it's usually quite windy. Lost a heavy duty cover once which was secured using bungee straps. Found it a while later hanging from the TV aerial on the side of the house about 30ft up!

It's frame is pegged down with 8 rebar steel mega tent pegs, meant for marquees etc.

There are lots of polytunnels in my area and none have blown away to my knowledge. They wouldn't sell very well otherwise, would they?

Try that in the bit of Dorset I live in and it'd blow away. We've had to retrieve sheds and greenhouses before :P Peg it down too hard it'd probably just take your garden with it.
