Sprint camshaft recommendations.

I picked up one of the new Triumph Tune STR516 camshaft blanks recently so now have to decide what profile I should get it ground to. I want it to be a nice fast road engine that is easy to live with. The head has been lightly modded and I will probably stick with the 2" SU's for the moment although I do have a twin Dellorto 45DHLA set up to use if I get a bit excited.
I can go to Piper for their 270 or to Kent Cams for their DMS1 which are both similar to the old TT10105
What does the forum recommend please as you guys have tried most combinations.

I'm using a 292 cam with a worked head, a venier and twin 45 dellortos, it's okish using it on the road, lost a bit of low down grunt but pulls well from 2500. I'm not dissapointed as I can use it on a mixture of roads.

Stick to a standard cam, I know some people run STR91's in boggo standard engines (I think Jonners does for one), but in modern traffic and your not caning the old girl every day, using the power band 3-6k then you'll be far better off with a standard cam that'll idle lovely and still rev to 7k.
If you're into track days and the such, then a lightly modified head should become a well modified head. A bit like this TR Enterprises head
Then put a decent cam in, the engine above runs a STR91 (rally) with well over 200bhp and is properly race proven.
By all means run a STR139 if the head has been worked correctly (a lot more work is involved going from a 91 to a 139), in that case with high compression pistons and 48's you'll be looking at 240 (as per the usual race cars). What feels very tractable on a race circuit become a bit of a pain on the road (Isle of man classic - you can run your race cars on the road). It's good fun on cam, but not at traffic lights on a hill.
If you want a nice fast road engine with mild head work, don't chuck a cam in, get a nice new standard cam, a set of stainless valves (or modified originals) properly sorted valve seats and have a solid 160-170 bhp.
Just my 2p worth.

Russ,
I'm running a Newman stage 1 with standard head, lumenition magnetronic with
magnecor wires and HIF6 carbs. Smooth idle, plenty of mid range pickup. Standard
exhaust manifods with sports exhaust.
