How do you remove the Sprint rear brake-balance-valve....

... pivot-point bolt please ? I've found a long Allen key bolt in one end and that seems to release the long round coiled spring and the link bar, but I still can't separate the bracket from the pivot bolt. One end has a recessed round head "bolt" and the other appears to be a solid bar.
Thanks very much,
Tony.

Hi Tony,
There is another locating pin in the shaft , next to were the coil Spring goes through
Knock this pin out and you will be able to seperate it
Regards Simon

Gentlemen, can I make a comment here please?
It is to be read as a comment rather than a criticism for I may well be barking up the wrong tree.
The photo shown above of the components of the brake balance valve is identical to the one which James467 posted on page 20 of his restoration NWL – Project Carmine Sprint.
It would be a matter of courtesy to either have referred us all back to that page for the photo, it is James’s photo taken by him, was placed there as much for our benefit as it is for his. However perhaps Simon has in this case sought James’s permission to use the photo and that permission was granted in which it would have been polite to have at least acknowledged as having been taken by James and that Simon had received his permission to use it here.
I faced the same issue only last weekend on my post relating to installing the club sourced alloy carburettor mounts, where a photo taken by tangocharlie1 illustrated a problem which I had. I chose to refer those reading my post back to the post put up by tangocharlie1.
For those of you who remember back to the days when there was a DSR News, you might recall the cover on which there was a photograph of a Dolomite Sprint at the head of a whole line of traffic coming off the Sydney Harbour Bridge. I wrote to the Sydney morning paper requesting a copy of that photo and permission to publish it in the magazine. It was granted on the condition that we acknowledged who had supplied the image. They were as courteous in their response as they were in granting us permission to use it.
The same courtesy should be applied to all those wanting to copy and display images shown here.
Robert

I agree that Simon should've at least credited James for the photo. If I use somebody else's photo I usually say words to the effect of "shamelessly plagarized from...". A but toungue-in-cheek but I at least acknowledge that the photo isn't mine. I don't object to somebody using my photos as long as they don't pass them off as their own and they credit me. As soon as I saw the photo, I knew it was one of James' high quality shots. They're definitely worthy of a "Dolomite Restoration" book should one ever get written.

Thanks guys.
Don't worry Simon, you're not the first and wont be the last!!
I don't have an issue with people using my shots as long as I get credited. However, sometimes people don't know where they come from and who took them so I will watermark them from now on.
Because they are public, they do appear on Google image searches so are all copyrighted in the Meta Data.

Well said Robert.
Unfortunately, the internet has engendered much assumption over the last 20+ years.
