Just thought I'd say hi too you all :bluewave:
My name's Tom and I have just acquired a 1979 sprint.I first had a 73 sprint when I was 19 (I'm 50 now) and unfortunately I never got it running properly, many long days and nights in the garage with my dad, I suppose that's what you get when you swap a mk2 Granada 3 litre for a dolomite sprint with the engine in the boot
My dad passed away just before last Christmas and I couldn't help but think about the time we spent together trying to get the sprint running, so I thought it's time to buy another ( one with the engine in the right place this time)
I managed to get one that looked exactly like my first sprint ,,yellow with a webasto roof she's not perfect but quite a clean example. I'll be asking a few questions as their is a couple of things that are a bit puzzling?
look forward to chatting to you all

Welcome to the forum. You've come to the best place for help and advice. Get those questions asked. Have you considered starting a thread in the resto section. It is handy for documenting what you've done to the car as well as sharing your (lack of) progress with the rest of us. I'd also recommend joining the Club. It is worth every penny of the membership fee.

Dave, you might have phrased that better! ITYM if Tom finds his progress slow he'll be in good company here?

(My Sprint hasn't moved under it's own steam in approaching a decade, GT6 in 6 yrs, 1500HL in 3, spitfire ever in my ownership and so on)

Welcome Tom, I love the colour :) Lots of info on here if you search. Also doing a google search will bring up posts from this forum that sometimes is quicker.

Cheers

Tony

Welcome to a group of fine fellows.
I sold my Sprint three years ago but still appreciate the folk on here and despite the cars little faults that were so thoughtfully built in by BL all those years ago they are terrific little cars.
Love the yellow ones :bluewave:
