Hidden switch

Hi I was thinking of fitting a hidden switch to disable the engine.
I found information on the internet which said that the easiest way was to connect the switch to the negative terminal of the coil. When the switch is flicked the car wont start because of earth connection.
I have 2 terminals on the negative side of my coil, a rev counter and the condenser.
Would it be best to splice into the rev counter cable or the condenser cable?
Or would it be possible to put a piggy back connector onto either terminal?
I have a Dolomite 1300, 1980.

Neither.
If you pull the connector from the contact breaker off the coil the car will not start.
Remove the lead from the contact breaker from the -ve side of the coil. Run that to one side of a switch then the over side of the switch to the coil -ve.

Reach under the dash and unplug the ignition switch?

I think reaching in and unplugging would soon wear things and on dark nights be a pain.
But a hidden switch that disables the ignition is perfect because it churns it over but will not start so the thieves would not be looking for a switch.
I always fit an electric fuel pump with a hidden switch and so the car starts and runs for less than a 1/4 of a mile and then coughs to a stop and said thieves have to leg it
It is right to protect classics from thieves as its clear many are getting stolen recently.

Fuel pump switch is a good idea....
Until you forget yourself and conk out in the middle of a tight junction pull-out....
Or the thieves move your car to a container in float chamber range.....
Ignition (or starter) switch is a good idea...

Probably too late now, but in the last Dolomite I had in the early 80s, I wired up a hazard flasher switch which was mounted upside down under the dash with the 'knob' end fixed to the panel, so you pulled or pushed the switch body to use it. I had it wired so that when pulled, it disconected the ignition circuit, and switched the feed to the horn. Meaning if anyone tried to start the car, the horn would sound. It saved the car being stolen on one occasion in London.

Hi that's the wiring done. Condenser to switch and from switch back to the coil as advised. Working fine. Thanks for your help.
