Dolly newbie

Hi
I'm a dolly newbe from the wilds of Mersea Island in Essex.
I have inherited a 1974 1850 hl dolomite, last on the road in 1985, fair bit of restoration needed.
Bit of rust in sill and wheel arch areas but biggest job will be to get the seized solid engine running.

HL Dollys weren't introduced until late 1975, but I'll take my anorak off now and say welcome to the world of small Triumph saloons.

*Okay, so it's a 5.7m plastic tub with an outboard, but that doesn't sound quite so romantic...

Raf, have you seen a TV programme called "Le Salvager" where a boat is made from a fibreglass van roof? The presenter (Rico Daniels) is an expat in France who was originally from Essex.

I stand corrected, my 1974 dolly is not HL according to the log book but never the less quite plush inside with wooden door caps and dash board etc
Looking forward to the restoration.
Having problems with photos, files too big, will have go to make them smaller.

I do the poor thing an injustice, but it does cause hilarity when I radio "Brightlingsea harbour master - Brightlingsea harbour master this is Dreadnought - can I have a mooring for the night?" and they come out and see my Shetland 570...

I've seen one of Rico's The Salvager programmes around a mates house where he made a bed out of railway sleepers, I think they forgot to mention the reinforced bedroom floor that would be needed to support the weight!
